Summary
Manage the day-to-day operation of the school tuckshop including opening and set-up of the tuckshop, preparation of food and food orders.

About the opportunity
P-12 College is seeking a Senior Tuckshop Convenor to manage the efficient and effective day to day operation of the school tuckshop. This role requires managing the profit and loss for the business unit, overseeing the health and safety within the tuckshop area and its equipment, ordering of stock, organisation of the casual staff roster per term, preparation of food, onsite catering, upkeeping a hygienic workplace ensuring compliance with all WH&S and Council Regulations, and customer contact with College staff and students, as well as other requirements as necessary to operate a busy P-12 College tuckshop.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Support special event days and catering requests for school functions which includes setting up and packing away.
- Prepare menus which actively support health food programs.
- Ensure food is prepared and stored in accordance with correct food handling and hygiene procedures and guidelines and assist with managing goods and supplies including the rotation of stock.
- Maintain adequate stock levels to meet daily and weekly menu requirements including the ordering, receiving, storing and inventory of stock.
- Coordinate the daily cleaning and clean-up of kitchen and storage areas to ensure high standards of food hygiene.
- Select and use appropriate techniques and cleaning agents for the cleaning of facilities and cooking utensils.
- Assist with the monitoring and recording requirements of the Food Safety Program for example, recording temperatures.
- Supervise, coordinate and support volunteers and staff in the tuckshop and storage areas.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement menus that support healthy food programs, with strong knowledge of nutritional requirements pf school-aged children.
- In‑depth understanding of proper food preparation techniques, safe food storage, and compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Proficiency in workplace health and safety practices, ensuring a safe and compliant food service environment.
- Extensive experience in stock management, including ordering, receiving, storing, and conducting stocktakes to maintain adequate supplies
- Strong organisational skills, initiative, and enthusiasm, with the ability to lead, plan, organise, and manage day‑to‑day tuckshop operations, including finance and cash‑handling responsibilities
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas, including routine cleaning and hygiene monitoring
- Experience supervising, coordinating, and supporting volunteers and staff within a food service setting, fostering effective teamwork and positive communication.
- Skilled in setting up and packing away for events, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

- Must hold a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement
