Summary
Manage the day-to-day operation of the school tuckshop including opening and set-up of the tuckshop, preparation of food and food orders.

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Support special event days and catering requests for school functions which includes setting up and packing away.
- Prepare menus which actively support health food programs.
- Ensure food is prepared and stored in accordance with correct food handling and hygiene procedures and guidelines and assist with managing goods and supplies including the rotation of stock.
- Maintain adequate stock levels to meet daily and weekly menu requirements including the ordering, receiving, storing and inventory of stock.
- Coordinate the daily cleaning and clean-up of kitchen and storage areas to ensure high standards of food hygiene.
- Select and use appropriate techniques and cleaning agents for the cleaning of facilities and cooking utensils.
- Assist with the monitoring and recording requirements of the Food Safety Program for example, recording temperatures.
- Supervise, coordinate and support volunteers and staff in the tuckshop and storage areas.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement menus that actively support health food programs.
- In-depth knowledge of proper food preparation techniques, food storage, and food safety.
- Proficiency in workplace health and safety practices.
- Extensive experience in stock management, including ordering, receiving, storing, and performing stocktakes to ensure adequate supplies.
- Commitment to adhering to hygiene regulations, including maintaining cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas, and conducting routine cleaning.
- Experience in supervising, coordinating, and supporting volunteers and staff in a food service environment.
- Skilled in setting up and packing away for events, ensuring smooth operations.
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
