St Joseph's Catholic Primary School is a co-educational school, situated on 4.5 hectares with sweeping mountain views, with an enrolment of over 700 students. St Joseph's School, in strong partnership with the parish priest and parish community, is recognised for proudly offering quality, inclusive, Catholic Education. As the school has grown and changed it has continued to build on the traditions established by the early community of St Joseph's.

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to and promoting the development, alignment, attainment and review of the mission and strategic goals for Brisbane Catholic Education
- Working closely with others to promote and develop student wellbeing, emotional resilience, positive relationships and a sense of community
- Collaborating with other role holders such as the Campus Minister or APRE in supporting the faith, spiritual and pastoral needs of students
- Provide appropriate referrals for students in accordance with school approved protocols and processes
- Promote positive partnerships within and beyond the school community.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Contributing and working with others in partnership for the common goal of students' wellbeing
- Supporting students' emotional resilience, positive relationships, and spiritual needs
- Key knowledge of support services to be able to assess and provide appropriate referrals for students
- Building and maintaining positive relationships within the school and local community, promoting partnerships that support students' holistic development
- Demonstrate understanding of Catholic values, emotional intelligence, and crisis management to address the spiritual, emotional, and academic needs of students
- Certificate IV qualification in Youth Work or Pastoral Care or related field
- The certificate or equivalent qualification must include two units of competency in ‘making appropriate referrals’, ‘mental health’, ‘working with young people or ‘cultural awareness and support’.
- Completion of the professional learning package, 'Responding to and Preventing Cyberbullying' delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing and every two years thereafter
- For government funded programs, apply for a temporary waiver through Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC), if the above qualifications are not met.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
