About our school
Holy Spirit is a vibrant, happy and welcoming Primary School. We are a close-knit community with a strong connection to our Parish in Bray Park. Each year level is comprised of three classes, supported by a comprehensive Learning Support Team and School Officers. Student wellbeing and progress is central. Our Year Level Teams work collaboratively to prepare and plan for optimal engagement for all students; each Team is well supported by the Primary Learning Leader and other key personnel. We promote a positive work culture through regular professional development opportunities, allocated non-contact time, effective contemporary resourcing, staff wellbeing activities and a true sense of belonging. The school is well-resourced with 1-1 iPads for students and IT devices provided for each staff member.

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Teacher Librarian to lead and enrich our school’s literacy, digital learning, and resource management programs. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of reading, inquiry, and lifelong learning across the school community.
As Teacher Librarian, you will:
- Curate and promote diverse, high-quality resources (print, digital, multimodal) aligned with curriculum and student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to design and implement units that integrate information literacy, digital literacy, and inquiry-based learning.
- Explicitly teach research, critical thinking, digital citizenship, and ethical use of information and AI tools.
- Promote a love of reading through literature for pleasure and learning, supporting recreational reading and student interests.
- Support students and staff in developing digital literacy skills, including safe and effective use of digital technologies.
- Manage the library collection to ensure it is current, inclusive, and curriculum-aligned.
- Maintain a welcoming, text-rich, and technology-enabled library environment.
- Implement efficient systems for resource circulation, digital resource management, and library administration.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day issues with digital resources and technologies.
- Engage parents and the wider community through library events, reading initiatives, and information sessions.
- Lead and participate in professional learning, sharing best practices in literacy and digital technologies.
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
About you
You are a forward-thinking educator who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about empowering students through literacy and technology. You bring:
- Creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum
- Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
- Teaching qualifications, with additional qualifications in Teacher Librarianship (desirable).
- Expertise in literacy, information literacy, and digital technologies, including AI tools.
- A collaborative and innovative mindset, with experience co-planning curriculum and inquiry-based learning.
- Strong communication skills to engage students, staff, and families.
- A commitment to equity, inclusion, and Catholic values in education.
- A reflective approach to teaching, using data and research to inform continuous improvement.
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes for students

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
