Support the daily operations across the Science Department, collaborating with the leadership team and stakeholders to provide expert support and advice.

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the development, maintenance and operations of various science initiatives, and recommend improvements to processes and procedures
- Coordinating general day-to-day tasks, monitoring workloads, promoting teamwork, skill development, and a sense of pride in the Science Department, and wider school
- Developing and interpreting legislation, regulations, procedures and other guideline material relating to operations within the school
- Reviewing and monitoring resources within the Science Department, including the maintenance/storage of equipment, cleaning and disposal, and WHS obligations
- Updating relevant databases, timetables, contacts, procedures and registers to comply with BCE policies and standards.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Knowledge of science and the ability to develop, coordinate, and enhance the operation of science initiatives
- Leadership abilities to manage daily tasks, promote teamwork, and foster skill development
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, and procedures relevant to school operations
- Expertise in resource management, including equipment maintenance, storage, cleaning, disposal, and WHS compliance
- Proficiency in updating databases, timetables, contacts, procedures, and registers
- Tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma level in science or related field
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
