Summary

We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Lead to join our school community. In this pivotal role, you will lead the provision of marketing services to support and promote our school operations and strategic initiatives. You will collaborate closely with leadership and stakeholders to drive operational success and elevate our school's presence in the community.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams to ensure school promotional operations and outcomes are achieved.
  • Provide strategic advice to stakeholders on the financial implications and budgetary impacts of marketing and comms projects, including the identification of risks and planning future opportunities.
  • Participate in leadership decisions to improve school efficiencies and develop systems in line with legislative requirements and school policy and procedures.
  • Lead, coach and provide ongoing professional development and instruction to staff to improve systems and practices.
  • Promote and implement various initiatives, to increase engagement and highlight student pathways.
  • Ensure relevant databases, timetables, contacts, procedures and registers are maintained to comply with BCE policies and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to challenge existing business processes and recommend alternative approaches.
  • Manage the update and development of print and online media and plan the strategic approach to events and key dates across the year.
  • Manage the school brand marketing.
  • Provide high-level specialist support to the Principal and College Leadership Team around marketing and communications.
  • Plan and deliver timely information to parents, students, and the community.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of standards, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring high-quality documents and information.
  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Principal Religious Education to develop and implement communication strategies.
  • Take a leading role in organizing school events involving the wider community, including Open Day and Mother’s and Father’s Day Breakfasts.
  • Coordinate the production of major school publications and maintain accurate content for the school’s website.
  • Develop and maintain a proactive and consistent online and social media presence.
  • Develop and coordinate partnerships with Alumni members.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including: 

  • Experience in strategic coordination of marketing, and events, aligned with needs and trends
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to promote schools activities
  • Experience in media management including online and print
  • Interpreting legislation and ensuring consistent branding
  • Manage marketing procurement, budgeting activities and risk planning
  • Digital strategy and strategic media management experience in aligning to objectives and initiatives
  • Tertiary qualification at a Associate Diploma/Diploma level in Marketing and Communciations and/or relevant experience in a related field
  • Demonstrate self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in some areas
  • Apply a range of technical and other skills to roles and functions in both varied and highly specific contexts
  • Exercise discretion and judgment in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, service techniques, and work organization for self and others
  • Knowledge of the operations of a Brisbane Catholic Education school, including relevant policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify, develop, and promote strategies to assist in developing productive relationships within the school community
  • Operate effectively as a team member and build positive working relationships
  • Demonstrate personal qualities of confidentiality, empathetic understanding, and reliability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with all members of the school community

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
