About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Lead to lead the day‑to‑day operation of the school's buildings, grounds and facilities services. Reporting to the Principal, this role provides operational leadership, financial oversight and strategic advice to ensure facilities services are safe, compliant, efficient and aligned with school priorities.
The role leads multidisciplinary teams and external contractors, manages operational and maintenance budgets, and contributes to school leadership decisions that enhance learning environments and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate facilities, grounds and cleaning teams, including day‑to‑day supervision and workflow management.\
- Manage external contractors for facilities, cleaning and minor capital works, ensuring quality, safety and timeliness.
- Oversee school maintenance, grounds and cleaning services, including special cleaning and event support.
- Act as budget holder for operational, maintenance and minor capital works budgets, monitoring expenditure and risks.
- Provide strategic advice to the Principal and leadership team on facilities priorities and financial impacts.
- Ensure facilities operations comply with WHS, environmental and building regulations.
- Develop and maintain effective systems for planned and reactive maintenance and compliance.
- Maintain accurate facilities, contract and compliance records, including coordination of annual audits.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Demonstrated experience in facilities, maintenance or property management within a complex environment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams and manage contractors.
- Strong budget management and financial reporting capability.
- Sound knowledge of WHS, compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Well‑developed communication skills with the ability to provide practical, strategic advice to school leadership
- A continuous improvement mindset and strong organisational skills.
