Summary

This senior leadership role provides strategic advice, leadership and coordination across school operations and system‑wide programs, working closely with senior leaders and principals to resolve complex complaints, lead multifaceted initiatives and business‑as‑usual activities that strengthen school operational management and enhance professional support to principals across the BCE system. The role plays a key part in aligning system priorities, responding to emerging school issues and complaints, and driving effective, sustainable and future‑focused approaches to school operations and compliance.

  • Salary: $253,715 (including super and access to a vehicle)

About the opportunity

In this position you will: 

  • Provide strategic leadership and advice across school operations, programs and initiatives that support principals and schools
  • Lead the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of complex issues or programs aligned to system priorities
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders to ensure resolution of complex complaints and alignment and effectiveness across BCE functions
  • Build strong relationships with principals and senior leaders to understand operational challenges, inform decision‑making and shape system responses
  • Use data and insights to identify priorities, inform strategy and drive continuous improvement
  • Support the management of complex school matters, including complaints and related processes, as required
  • Contribute to principal capability and performance processes, as required.
  • Lead and contribute to governance committees and system‑level planning, funding and staffing processes
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external partnerships to support system strategic outcomes
  • Lead, support and develop staff to foster a high‑performing, collaborative team culture

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:    

  • Significant leadership experience in complex education, organisational or system environments
  • Strong capability in complaint handling and assessing, investigating and resolving complex complaints and leading strategic programs and change initiatives from design through to delivery
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse groups
  • Sound judgement and confidence in navigating complex, sensitive and high‑risk matters in school contexts
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform strategy and decision‑making
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and/or principals, with an understanding of school operations and system contexts
  • A collaborative leadership style that supports performance, capability development and positive culture
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience 

 

 Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:  

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment  
  • Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or current Working with Children Blue Card
