About our team 
The Formation and Engagement Services oversees BCE’s core strategic priority to deepen the understanding of and engagement with the Catholic Tradition, Scripture, and Theology among employees, students, and families through professional development, formation and experiential opportunities, alongside the development of contemporary resources that embed the Catholic Identity Framework within BCE schools and offices. This service area of BCE articulates a contemporary Catholic Christian worldview, to animate the centrality of Jesus and responsibility to enact Catholic Social Teachings. This includes creation and oversight of experiential learning opportunities, including pilgrimages; In- and On-Country Encounters; and Religious Education Conferences. 

Summary

As the Senior Advisor – Formation and Engagement: Education, you will play a key role in shaping formation and Religious Education across schools, with a strong focus on enhancing Catholic identity and student outcomes. This role leads the design and delivery of high-impact professional learning, develops contemporary resources aligned to curriculum and strategy, and partners with school leaders to embed effective practice. You’ll contribute to system-wide initiatives, influence strategic direction, and support schools to deliver meaningful formation experiences for students, staff, and communities.

  • Salary: $137,560 - $152,836 plus super

About the opportunity

In this position you will:   

  • Design and deliver professional learning programs to build capability in Religious Education and formation
  • Develop contemporary resources aligned to the Religious Education Curriculum P–12 and Catholic Identity Framework
  • Create and support strategic initiatives such as Curriculum Orientation Religious Education (CORE)
  • Partner with school leaders to enhance student formation opportunities, including retreats and service learning
  • Analyse school data and provide strategic advice to improve Religious Education outcomes
  • Build strong networks across schools and stakeholders to support implementation and share best practice
  • Conduct research and apply insights to inform policy, programs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate implementation and evaluation of curriculum and formation programs to ensure impact and consistency  

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:    

  • Experienced educator or advisor with strong knowledge of Religious Education, theology, and formation
  • Skilled in designing and delivering engaging professional learning for adult learners
  • Strong analytical and advisory capability, with the ability to interpret data and influence outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and deliver outcomes in complex or system-wide environments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and support leaders and educators   
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty.  
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) in Religious Education, Theology, Leadership or a related field

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:  

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). 
  • Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children
