About our team 
The School Operations and Programs team collaborates with senior leadership and other executive functions to provide advice, leadership, and support for projects, programs and BAU activities. We offer operational support for principals, including welcoming and supporting new and acting principals, and providing general operational advice. Our team also manages the Principal Performance and Development Summative Review process, complex complaints and the provision of professional learning around Critical Incident management and support for principals and leadership teams. 

Summary

BCE seeking a Senior Advisor who can effectively contribute to a team that undertakes complaint management, compliance and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate will be able to engage and interact with stakeholders across a complex educational environment through various modes of communication.

  • Salary: $137,560 - $152,836 + super

About the opportunity

 

In this position you will be responsible for: 

  • Provide specialised advice and support to schools on operational management, compliance, and complaints handling, ensuring alignment with BCE policies and procedures.
  • Lead and document investigations into school feedback and complaints, preparing high-quality, evidence-based reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and roll out strategic programs that enhance school operations, build capability, and support continuous improvement across the BCE network.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of operational data and educational research to generate insights that shape policy updates, program enhancements, and strategic planning.
  • Work closely with Policy and Performance teams to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and implement solutions that strengthen school compliance and risk mitigation frameworks.
  • Manage and deliver key projects focused on improving operational efficiency, ensuring schools meet system-wide compliance requirements and performance benchmarks.
  • Create fit-for-purpose policies and resources tailored to school needs, and regularly review their effectiveness to ensure they remain relevant and impactful.
  • Build strong relationships with new school leaders, offering mentorship and practical advice to help them navigate BCE’s operational frameworks and succeed in their roles.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Deep expertise in in managing end-to-end process of complaints.
  • Strong digital, systems, recording and reporting capability.
  • Proven success is resolving complaints in a trauma informed approach.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • A commitment to respectful Christian relationships.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education, Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience in education, not-for-profit, government, or faith-based sectors will be highly regarded.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or 
  • Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
