Summary
San Sisto College, Carina is seeking a dedicated Groundsman Service Officer to maintain and enhance the College’s grounds and facilities, ensuring a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment for students, staff and the wider school community.

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Maintain school grounds and facilities to ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
- Perform routine groundskeeping duties including mowing, landscaping, waste management, litter collection and general site presentation.
- Assist with the setup and pack down of school events, assemblies, sporting activities and community functions.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, machinery and tools in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Undertake routine maintenance, minor repairs and facility inspections across the school site.
- Monitor and respond to maintenance requests, liaising with staff, contractors and service providers as required.
- Support the coordination and supervision of contractors on site and assist with sourcing materials and supplies.
- Contribute to the security of the school through opening and locking facilities and conducting site checks.
- Provide transport support for student excursions, events and activities when required and appropriately licensed.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Knowledge of maintaining playing surfaces, including fertilising, seeding, and turfing
- Ability to assist in preparing ovals for sporting events and carnivals
- Skilled in safely operating and maintaining small machinery, ensuring safety for all
- Experience in equipment and plant maintenance, following the grounds maintenance plan
- Ability to assist in ordering and purchasing materials for maintenance tasks
- Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level, or completion of an apprenticeship
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
