Summary

San Sisto College invites applications from highly organised, professional, and experienced executive assistants to support the Principal of a large, dynamic secondary college serving approximately 850 students.
This is a key executive support role, providing high level administrative and operational assistance to the Principal and contributing to the effective leadership, governance, and smooth operation of the College. As a key member of the school leadership team, you will play an essential role in decision-making, offering valuable insights to enhance services that support the smooth operation of the school.

About the opportunity

As the Personal Assistant to the Principal you will provide confidential, professional, and proactive executive support in a complex educational environment. This role requires sound judgement, discretion, and the capacity to manage competing demands while working closely with senior leaders, staff, families, and BCE offices. The Admin Lead/Personal Assistant plays a vital role in coordinating workflows, supporting compliance and governance processes, and ensuring the effective functioning of the Principal's office and you will operate with a high degree of autonomy.

 

In this position you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading and managing multidisciplinary teams to ensure school operations and outcomes are achieved 
  • Providing strategic advice to stakeholders on the financial implications and budgetary impacts of operational projects, including the identification of risks and future opportunities 
  • Participating in leadership decisions to improve school efficiencies and develop systems in line with legislative requirements and school policy and procedures 
  • Leading, coaching and providing ongoing professional development and instruction to administration staff to improve systems and practices 
  • Promoting and implementing various initiatives, to increase engagement and highlight student pathways.
  • Providing a high level executive and confidential administrative support to the Principal including managing complex diary commitments, correspondence, and meeting coordination
  • Managing human resources administration requirements, including the coordination and preparation of documentation relating to contracts, variations, appointments, and staffing change
  • Acting as a key liaison between the Principal, senior leaders, staff, parents, BCE offices, and external stakeholders
  • Supporting strategic initiatives, College events, and whole of school operations
  • Maintaining accurate records and systems in line with BCE requirements and contribute to continuous improvement of administrative processes.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including: 

  • Experience or exposure to working as a personal assistant or within a school administration setting will be highly regarded
  • Inspiring and guiding multidisciplinary teams to drive meaningful and impactful outcomes 
  • Offering strategic insights to stakeholders on the financial impacts, budget considerations, risks, and future opportunities of operational projects 
  • Actively contributing to leadership decisions that shape systems in line with legislative requirements and organisational strategy 
  • Leading, coaching, and empowering administrative staff through continuous professional development and skill enhancement 
  • Championing and rolling out initiatives that boost engagement and foster a vibrant school community 
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
