About our school 
St Joseph's College Coomera is a Brisbane Catholic Education master planned co-educational College that opened in January 2019. Our first Seniors graduated in 2024. The College is located in Coomera on the Northern Gold Coast, 40 minutes south of the Brisbane CBD.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Digital Technologies and Inquiry-Based Learning Specialist to join our primary teaching team. This is a dedicated teaching role focused on delivering a rich and engaging curriculum that integrates digital technologies with explicit inquiry-based learning.
The successful applicant will work across Prep to Year 6, supporting students and staff in developing and delivering inquiry projects that are enhanced through the purposeful use of digital tools. As part of the specialist release team, the role includes responsibility for teaching and assessing the Digital Technologies curriculum, while collaborating with classroom teachers to co-design units of work.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and deliver engaging digital technologies lessons aligned with inquiry-based learning frameworks.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan and support integrated units of work.
  • Lead assessment and reporting for the Digital Technologies curriculum across Prep to Year 6.
  • Contribute to the development of a whole-school approach to digital learning and inquiry.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Proven experience or strong interest in digital technologies and inquiry/project-based learning.
  • Ability to design and implement new units of work that align with curriculum standards and inquiry principles.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to team teaching.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.Creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum
  • Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes for students
  • A passion to support students' spiritual and moral development
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
