About the opportunity
St Bonaventure's College is seeking a passionate, joy-filled, dynamic educator to fill the foundation Head of Department - Curriculum (Mathematics/Science/Technology).
This position will report directly to the Head of College, Learning and Wellbeing, and work within a close knit team of five Head of Departments/Curriculum Leaders. In the initial years, the Head of Department - Curriculum (Mathematics/Science/Technology), will work closely with the College Principal in supporting excellence in learning and teaching and student support processes. It is anticipated that this role will change over the coming years with department responsibilities being separated as the College grows. Focused on collaborative work practices, and supported by an outstanding team of Senior Leaders and support staff, this role holder will be a key member of the Middle Leadership Team.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate commitment to excellence and experience in leading and forming staff and students and in ensuring student voice and feedback is embedded in regular practice.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Leading the designated curriculum area(s) taught in the school
- Applying contemporary learning and teaching research to classroom practice through professional development of teachers engaged in the area(s) of curriculum responsibility
- Supervising and inducting teachers engaged in the area(s) of curriculum responsibility
- Analysing student performance data and addressing areas of concern through appropriate interventions
- Managing financial and material resources within the area of responsibility including the formulation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds.

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Developed work programs in alignment with national, state, and local requirements.
- Driving the assessment and moderation process when developing new programs.
- Leading and innovating within a specified curriculum area.
- Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.
- Having responsibility for a financial budget.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirement:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
