About the opportunity
The School Officer (Administration) plays a vital role in the daily operations of the school front office, providing professional, welcoming and efficient administrative support to staff, students, families and visitors. This role also includes responsibility for first aid response and medical record management, ensuring the health and safety of students during school hours.
In this position you will be responsible for Front Office Administration by:
- Serving as the first point of contact for all visitors, students, and families
- Managing incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries with professionalism and care
- Maintaining student records, attendance data, and school correspondence
- Supporting school operations including excursions and event coordination
- Assisting with financial tasks such as receipting, invoicing, and petty cash handling
- Developing and/or administering processes and procedures and responding to enquiries
- Monitoring service delivery to identify efficiencies and ensure compliance with government and departmental legislation, directives, policies and standards
- Facilitating work to meet deadlines and commitments and to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
- Supervising and training support staff as required, ensuring high standards of administrative support.
First Aid & Student Wellbeing
- Providing immediate first aid care to students and staff in accordance with school policy
- Maintaining accurate records of incidents and medical treatments
- Administering student medications as directed and liaise with families regarding health plans
- Conducting regular audits of medical supplies and ensure compliance with WHS standards
- Supporting the school's wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a safe and caring environment.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Coordinating tasks to meet deadlines and commitments, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery
- Advising on administrative tasks and processes, driving process improvements
- Understanding of compliance within a school and delivering on relevant legislation, policy and procedures
- Led and supported administrative staff, ensuring their smooth onboarding and providing effective training for optimal performance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school administration systems (e.g. eMinerva, BCE systems).
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic, however a welcoming and compassionate approach aligned with Catholic values would be highly regarded.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012 or equivalent).
