About our school
St William's School is a Catholic Primary School in the north-western suburb of Keperra, Brisbane. We are a co-educational school catering to the academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of all our students. Our enrolment of over 510 students from Prep to Year 6.   

St William’s is set on a 4.5-hectare site, with a large oval, covered basketball court, huge hall and multiple playgrounds for different year levels and ages. All our classrooms are air-conditioned, with digital throw-down screens, and all classrooms are extremely well-resourced to help support the teaching and learning needs of our staff and students. We are a One-to-One iPad school, and this program starts in Year 2. We offer specialist subjects in Japanese, Digital and Design Technologies, Performing Arts and PE.

Summary

Help drive strategy, manage finances, and oversee daily operations, working closely with the leadership team to achieve key operational goals of the Facilities team.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for: 

  • Maintain a safe school environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety measures tailored to young students.

  • Oversee school facilities and emergency procedures, ensuring that playgrounds, classrooms, and communal spaces meet safety standards and staff are prepared for emergencies.

  • Provide safety training and awareness to students and staff, fostering a culture of responsibility and proactive risk management within the school community.

  • Coordinating general day-to-day tasks, monitoring workloads, promoting teamwork, skill development, and a sense of pride in the school 
  • Developing and interpreting legislation, regulations, procedures, and other guideline material relating to operations within the school 
  • Preparing and maintaining procurement activities including overseeing budget administration, and activities 
  • Marketing and promoting facilities services, coordinating programs that are responsive to the school requirements and current trends 
  • Contributing to the school’s strategic and operational plans by reviewing legislation, regulations, initiatives, and policies and providing recommendations. 

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including: 

  • Having coordinated daily tasks and monitored workloads for a team 
  • Participated in the interpretation of legislation, regulations, and developed procedures 
  • Having managed procurement activities, including budget oversight and administration 
  • Experience in the promotion of services internally 
  • Strategic focus where you have contributed to operational plans by reviewing policies and providing recommendations 
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic. 

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
