About our school 
Emmaus College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational ecumenical College with an enrolment of over 1510 students. Emmaus College fosters Christian unity through its active partnership with the local Anglican, Catholic, Lutheran and Uniting churches. 

Emmaus is located on 21 hectares in a quiet bushland setting at 48 East Street, Jimboomba. Play a key role in driving the school’s mission by leading and shaping our dynamic learning and teaching programs.

  • Work hours: 30 hours/week
  • Salary: $86,601 - $124,725/annum + Middle Leader Tier 2 Allowance + superannuation

About the opportunity

This is a continuing teaching appointment, with an initial appointment into the Learning & Teaching Leader (Humanities) position which includes a Middle Leader Allowance, concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2026). Two subsequent three-year appointments as Learning & Teaching Leader (Humanities) with the Middle Leader Allowance can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position. 
 
In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the designated curriculum area(s) taught in the school 
  • Applying contemporary learning and teaching research to classroom practice through professional development of teachers engaged in the area(s) of curriculum responsibility 
  • Supervising and inducting teachers engaged in the area(s) of curriculum responsibility 
  • Analysing student performance data and addressing areas of concern through appropriate interventions 
  • Managing financial and material resources within the area of responsibility including the formulation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds. 
     

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • A minimum of 5 years teaching experience 
  • Developed work programs in alignment with national, state, and local requirements.  
  • Driving the assessment and moderation process when developing new programs.  
  • Leading and innovating within a specified curriculum area.  
  • Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.  
  • Having responsibility for a financial budget. 
  • Emmaus College is an ecumenical school, for this position you are required to be Catholic, Uniting Church, Anglican or Lutheran. 

 
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
