Emmaus College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational ecumenical College with an enrolment of over 1510 students. Emmaus College fosters Christian unity through its active partnership with the local Anglican, Catholic, Lutheran and Uniting churches.

Summary

The VET Engagement Officer supports the Principal in enhancing student learning outcomes, with a focus on vocational opportunities, and assists with College administration.

 

  • Location: Emmaus College, Jimboomba 
  • Start date: 20 October 2025 (may be flexible depending on availability of suitable candidate)
  • Work hours: 38 hours per week
  • Salary level, range or hourly rate: $36.98/hour - $38.15/hour + super (School Salary Scale)

About the opportunity

In this role, you will work closely with the Principal and Learning & Teaching Leader – Futures and Partnerships to enhance student outcomes, particularly in vocational pathways. You’ll also play a key part in supporting daily administrative operations.

 

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assist in implementing the Emmaus College VET Vision, Policy, and Procedures
  • Maintain accurate student data in relevant systems including Pathways databases and QCAA Student Management
  • Assist with the delivery and assessment of VET programs where required
  • Promote School-Based Apprenticeships/Traineeships (SBA/SBT) and assist students with applications
  • Monitor student progress in TPP, TAFE, SBA/SBT programs and liaise with RTOs to ensure accurate records
  • Track QCE eligibility for students in vocational pathways
  • Provide advice to staff and leadership on student progress and resolve course-related issues
  • Coordinate off-site VET enrolments and provide families with program information
  • Organise and monitor student industry placements in line with BCE policies
  • Support site visits and ensure correct documentation is completed for placements
  • Liaise with students, families, RTOs, and employers to resolve any vocational education concerns
  • Assist students with work readiness and pre-employment support
  • Build and maintain strong networks with industry, employers, and external training providers
  • Coordinate events such as the Pathways Expo and Mock Interviews
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with College, BCE, and QCAA policies

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work confidently with students, parents, staff, BCE departments, and external providers
  • Proven experience in providing broad administrative and operational support in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver efficient service
  • Experience reviewing and improving administrative processes to enhance efficiency
  • Understanding of school compliance requirements and ability to follow relevant policies and procedures
  • Self-directed approach with demonstrated expertise in key operational and administrative areas
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting the privacy of students, families, and staff
  • Capability to train, support, and guide administrative staff when needed
  • Strong initiative, time management, and problem-solving skills
