About the opportunity

 

In this position you will be responsible for: 

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance across the school, including furniture, equipment, locks, windows, and facilities

  • Clear drains, hose walkways, and regularly remove leaf debris from footpaths

  • Collect waste and carry out urgent cleaning duties outside regular cleaning hours

  • Safely operate and maintain small machinery and plant

  • Assist with preparations for school events such as sporting carnivals

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to conduct inspections and carry out repairs

  • Support day-to-day operations and school security

  • Assist with ordering and purchasing materials

  • Maintain a safe working environment for staff, students and visitors

About you

 

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Current driver’s licence

  • Previous experience in handyman or building maintenance (highly regarded)

  • Well-organised, flexible, and able to work independently with limited supervision

  • Willingness to work additional hours and extend beyond the fixed-term contract if required

  • Respect and support for the Catholic ethos of our school (no requirement to be Catholic)

Our Safeguarding Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work within Australia for the period of appointment.
  • Currently hold or ability to obtain a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
