About our school
St Benedict's Primary School at Mango Hill has a student population of just over 750 students. The school was established in 2008 and is located in the outer northern suburbs of Brisbane (Mango Hill). About the opportunity
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for providing strategic advice and managing administration, financial matters and daily operations across the school. Working closely with the leadership team and other stakeholders you will provide high level support to deliver on operational targets.
In this position you will be responsible for:
• Oversee the development, maintenance and operations of school facilities, grounds, and resources and recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
• Coordinate general day to day tasks, monitoring workloads, promoting teamwork, skill development, and a sense of pride in the school.
• Develop and interpret legislation, regulations, procedures and other guideline material relating to operations within the school.
• Prepare and maintain procurement activities including overseeing budget administration, and activities.
• Review, develop and implement processes and systems that enable effective management consistent with the school's strategic and operational objectives.
• Market and promote facilities services, coordinating programs that are responsive to the school requirements and current trends.
• Contribute to the school's strategic and operational plans by reviewing legislation, regulations, initiatives and policies and providing recommendations.
- Preparing for the construction and installation of facilities and equipment including minor maintenance of buildings, equipment, painting, repairs, carpentry, window cleaning, drain clearing, and tree trimming
- Performing general maintenance and care of the school grounds including garden beds, lawns, turf, sporting ovals, and greens, and assisting in the installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation equipment and systems
- Monitoring, prioritising, completing, and recording facilities and grounds maintenance requests on the school’s online system
- Assisting with facilities and grounds maintenance for events and functions, such as assemblies, exams, masses, sporting events, carnivals, and information evenings.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Skilled in managing both planned and unplanned maintenance of school buildings, furniture, and equipment, using tools and machinery
- Experience in preparing and performing minor building repairs
- Proficient in maintaining school grounds, including gardens, lawns, turf, ovals, and greens, and supporting irrigation system upkeep
- Ability to monitor, prioritise, and track maintenance requests through an online system
- Capable of managing the facilities and grounds setup and maintenance for events and functions
- Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level, or completion of an apprenticeship
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
