St Benedict College is an exciting educational facility built up in the beautiful growing community and suburb of Mango Hill. Over the past 10 years, state of the art facilities have been designed and built to incorporate innovative teaching and learning opportunities for over 1000 students in Years 7 to 12. Summary

Support the school’s mission by leading learning and teaching. This includes developing programs aligned with national, state, and local standards; implementing effective pedagogies; supervising teaching quality and student learning; using data analysis to guide decisions; building internal and external partnerships; and managing resources responsibly.

 

As the Sporting Program Leader you will support the organisation and development of secondary sports programs with a continuing teaching role.

About the opportunity

This is a continuing teaching appointment, with an initial appointment into the Middle Leader position including Middle Leader Allowance, concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2026). Two subsequent three-year appointments with the Middle Leader Allowance can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position.

 

In this position you will be responsible for:

 

  • Lead the designated program in the school.
  • Supervise teachers engaged in the program throughout the school.
  • Induct new teachers within the program (or supervise the induction where it is undertaken by another experienced teacher).
  • Monitor program outcomes for students and address areas of concern through appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinate the work of staff engaged in delivering the designated program in the light of the values and ethos of the school.
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders (students, parents, school staff and other personnel) to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
  • Organise program activities including resources, transport, operations, staff, etc.
  • Keep abreast of best practice in the program area through on-going professional reading and research, and providing for the professional learning of staff in line with these developments.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the school through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings.
  • Manage financial and material resources within the area of responsibility including the formulation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds.
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
