  • Salary: School Officer Level 7 - $52.64/hour + super (School Salary Scale)

About the opportunity

  • Create and deliver effective individual and small‑group programs that develop students’ speech, drama, and performance skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted feedback and strategies to support individual learning needs, including students requiring additional scaffolding.
  • Lead the delivery of engaging teaching methods, materials, and assessments that cater for diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Prepare students for performances, musicals, liturgies, assemblies, festivals, eisteddfods, and relevant external examinations or competitions.
  • Support students to build confidence, articulation, expression, movement, and stage presence through age‑appropriate pedagogy.
  • Maintain lesson attendance records and follow up absenteeism in collaboration with school staff and families.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and school leaders, providing updates on student progress and performance.
  • Contribute positively to the cultural and creative life of the school through performances and co‑curricular opportunities.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including: 

  • Proficiency in delivering Speech and Drama classess
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience monitoring student progress 
  • Development of engaging lesson plans and activities 
  • Patience and adaptability to be able to work with students of varying skill levels and learning styles 
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic. 

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
