St Mary Primary School has been providing a Catholic education for students in the Maryborough District for over 150 years. We are part of the St Mary's Community along with our college and parish and are committed to providing a quality, inclusive education. Summary
Play a key role in empowering the school to create and implement culturally rich strategies that uplift and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

- Salary: School Officer level 3 - 34.17 + super (School Salary Scale)
- Status: Fixed-term (Remainder of 2025 School Year)

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the delivery of cultural programs including the use of technology and learning support activities
- Supporting student learning outcomes by providing support and advice on students with diverse cultural needs
- Supervising small groups and individual students, to assist students with diverse cultural needs
- Collaborating with teachers and support staff to ensure that appropriate support services meet the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- Assisting in the drafting of newsletter articles and updates for the wider school community.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Experience assisting with delivering cultural programs and using technology for learning support
- Ability to provide support for students with diverse cultural needs
- Experience supervising small groups and individual students
- Collaboration skills to work with teachers and staff in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- Strong writing skills to assist in drafting newsletter articles and updates
- Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island descent
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
