Summary

Mt Maria College is seeking a Bus Driver for a dedicated bus run service to and from school. Play a key part in ensuring the safety and comfort of students by providing a smooth and secure bus service that enhances their daily school experience!

 

The service operates every school day (Mon - Fri) before and after school and the roster will be shared with a second driver.

  • Work hours: 15.00 hours per week
  • Salary: School Officer Level 3 - $34.17/ hour + 12.75% Super

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Checking student documentation when students enter the bus and assisting those who need help entering or exiting the bus
  • Safely drive the bus to pick up and return students to designated stops before and after school, in accordance with an approved route on an approved time schedule
  • Driving the bus for school excursions
  • Checking the bus tyres, lights, and oil and performing other basic maintenance checks before bus usage
  • Reporting behavioural student incidents, traffic incidents, and near misses.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Previous experience driving children or students, ensuring their safety and well-being, and being able to assist those who need help entering or exiting the bus
  • A proven track record of safely operating a bus, preferably driving school buses following designated routes and schedules
  • Experience driving buses on school excursions or field trips
  • Familiarity with performing basic vehicle checks, ensuring the bus is in good working condition before use
  • Incident reporting and communication
  • LR/MR Driving Licence 
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
