St Bernardine’s Catholic Primary School is a vibrant educational school located in Regents Park, just 22 km from Brisbane City, with an enrolment of approximately 730 students. The Assistant Principal Administration provides strategic leadership for teaching and learning across the school. Working in partnership with the Principal, APRE, and Assistant Principal Administration (Operations), the role is responsible for leading curriculum implementation, evidence-informed pedagogy, assessment, moderation, and data-driven improvement to enhance student outcomes. This position fosters a culture of high expectations, professional collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring that curriculum, teaching and assessment practices are aligned with Brisbane Catholic Education priorities and contemporary research. The role leads staff professional learning, instructional coaching and curriculum development, while monitoring student achievement data to inform targeted interventions and whole-school improvement priorities.

 

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the implementation, review and evaluation of curriculum across the school.
  • Promote and embed evidence-informed pedagogical practices aligned with the BCE Model of Pedagogy.
  • Guide teachers in planning, assessment, moderation and reporting practices.
  • Lead the analysis and use of student achievement and engagement data to inform improvement strategies.
  • Facilitate professional learning, coaching and mentoring to build teacher capability.
  • Oversee curriculum compliance, curriculum planning processes and whole-school academic improvement initiatives.
  • Support inclusive curriculum practices that enable all learners to achieve success.
  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Principal Administration (Operations) to ensure curriculum priorities are supported by effective organisational systems and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to the strategic leadership and Catholic identity of the school.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
  • For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).
