About the opportunity
- Contributing to speech pathology resource needs and services within the school
- Partner with staff and external personnel to evaluate student communication and learning needs
- Implement evidence-based, data-informed intervention approaches to enhance communication, learning, and wellbeing of students
- Work collaboratively with teachers to prioritise communication and learning goals, and developing intervention strategies, resources, and training to support implementation and evaluation
- Contribute to the professional development of staff and facilitating opportunities for parent education
- Establishing effective working relationships and networks with BCE speech pathologists and external professionals
- Undertake professional learning to maintain current clinical and professional knowledge in educational speech pathology
- Support school staff in implementing BCE policies, procedures, and guidelines related to inclusive education, including NCCD for students with communication impairments
- Communicating effectively with families and school personnel to suport and provided advice to parents and educators
- Participating in school-based processes such as personalised planning, the Enrolment Application and Support Procedure (EASP), reporting and transition planning
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Experience with standardised and non-standardised assessment tools to evaluate student communication and learning needs
- Proven ability to design and implement interventions that improve student outcomes
- Experience working alongside teachers to set and prioritise communication and learning goals
- Strong skills in providing clear, actionable reports and feedback to parents and educators on student progress
- Experience in leading or contributing to staff training and providing educational opportunities for parents on speech pathology topics
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology (minimum Bachelor’s degree) plus eligibility for Certified Practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
