Summary

Drive the school’s mission by leading learning and teaching at a strategic level. Develop curriculum aligned with national, state, and local standards; implement effective pedagogies; supervise teaching and learning quality; use data to inform decisions; build partnerships; and manage resources responsibly. 

 

This is continuing teaching appointment, with an initial appointment into the Curriculum Leader position including Middle Leader Allowance, concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2026). Two subsequent three- year appointments with the Middle Leader Allowance can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position.

About the opportunity

The Curriculum Leader – Senior Years Performance and Pathways leads the academic and personal development of Years 10–12 students, oversees university‑bound pathways, and works closely with the Program Leader – VET and Work Skills to support students pursuing work‑based post‑school options.

 

In this position you will be responsible:

  • Leading whole‑school curriculum development, implementation and evaluation
  • Applying contemporary pedagogy and data‑informed practice to improve teaching
  • Mentoring and supporting teachers through induction, coaching and performance review
  • Collaborating with Curriculum Leaders and Senior Leadership on planning and review
  • Guiding whole‑school professional learning aligned with curriculum and pedagogy
  • Overseeing student learning using internal and external data to drive interventions
  • Leading Curriculum Middle Leaders and driving improvement in Senior Years
  • Supporting tertiary entrance preparation and liaising with VET and Work Skills leaders
  • Managing Senior Years pathways, mentoring, at‑risk processes and tertiary preparation
  • Leading QCAA exam preparation, assessment processes, AARA and curriculum operations
  • Contributing to improvement planning, Core Curriculum/Data Teams and key College events

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Developed work programs in alignment with national, state, and local requirements.  
  • Driving the assessment and moderation process when developing new programs.  
  • Leading and innovating within a specified curriculum area.  
  • Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.  
  • Having responsibility for a financial budget. 

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
