About our school
Southern Cross Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 school offering families a co-educational pathway to life-long learning. The College was founded in 1995 following the amalgamation of the Catholic primary and secondary schools in the Moreton Bay Region.
The multi-campus College operates as the principal Catholic College on the Redcliffe peninsula. Southern Cross Catholic College has three campuses located in Scarborough, Kippa Ring and Woody Point accommodating students in Prep to Year 6 and a fourth campus in Scarborough accommodating middle and senior years students from Year 7 to 12. Summary
Support the Science Department by offering expert advice on complex issues and assisting in strategic planning.

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Promoting and implementing various science initiatives, to increase engagement and highlight student pathways
- Participating in leadership decisions to improve school efficiencies and develop systems in line with legislative requirements and school policy and procedures
- Leading, coaching and providing ongoing professional development and instruction to staff to improve systems and practices
- Coordinating and facilitating science practicums/experiments consistent with the science curriculum
- Overseeing resources within the Science Department, implementing and monitoring resource controls including the maintenance/storage of equipment, cleaning and disposal and WHS obligations.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Ability to promote and implement science initiatives to boost engagement and highlight student pathways
- Experience contributing to leadership decisions to enhance efficiencies and ensure compliance with policies and legislation
- Strong leadership, coaching, and professional development skills to improve systems and practices
- Expertise coordinating and facilitating science practicums/experiments aligned with a school curriculum
- Skilled in overseeing resource management, including equipment maintenance, storage, cleaning, disposal, and ensuring WHS compliance
- Tertiary qualification at Associate Diploma/Diploma level in science or related field
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
