Siena Catholic Primary School is located in Sippy Downs, in close proximity to the beaches of the Sunshine Coast. We are a co-educational, Catholic primary school catering for approximate 630 students. Summary
Play a key role in developing and implementing exciting improvements to gardens, grounds, playing fields, and external surfaces, enhancing the school environment.

About the opportunity
Groundsperson duties will include, but not limited to:
- Maintain gardens, grounds, lawns, and playing surfaces, including top dressing, seeding, turfing, coring, planting, trimming, mulching, and fertilising
- Prepare ovals and playing fields for sporting events and carnivals, including layout and line marking
- Safely distribute, apply, store, and record organic and chemical pesticides, sprays, and fertilisers
- Operate, maintain, and service specialised machinery and equipment for lawns, turf, and playing fields
- Maintain school grounds and facilities to a high standard
- Undertake general repairs and maintenance
- Respond efficiently to maintenance requests
- Maintain accurate work request records
- Assist staff with setup and pack up of school events and activities
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff, students, and visitors
- Uphold the College’s values and contribute to a positive and safe school
Facilities Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Coordinate maintenance, contractors, and service agreements
- Support minor and major works and refurbishment programs
- Implement preventative, compliant maintenance within budget
- Maintain asset records, maintenance systems, and opening procedures
- Communicate with stakeholders and support financial processesculture
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Skilled in managing both planned and unplanned maintenance of school buildings, furniture, and equipment, using tools and machinery
- Experience in preparing and performing minor building repairs
- Proficient in maintaining school grounds, including gardens, lawns, turf, ovals, and greens, and supporting irrigation system upkeep
- Ability to monitor, prioritise, and track maintenance requests through an online system
- Capable of managing the facilities and grounds setup and maintenance for events and functions
- Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level, or completion of an apprenticeship
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
