About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Removal of rubbish and debris from garden and grounds areas including the emptying of bins and disposing of waste material to maintain a clean, tidy, and litter-free school building and grounds environment
  • Routinely maintaining and/or repairing reticulation and irrigation systems, under supervision
  • Safely operate and maintain small machinery and plant, as required, considering the risk to self and others
  • Assisting in the maintenance of playing surfaces, including setting up of greens, top dressing, fertilising under supervision, seeding, turfing, coring, and sprigging
  • Assisting in the preparation of ovals for sporting events and carnivals.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including: 

  • A safety mindset being aware of risks, following safety protocols, using PPE, and ensuring the safety of yourself and others while maintaining the grounds and equipment
  • Knowledge of maintaining and repairing reticulation and irrigation systems, with supervision
  • Skilled in safely operating and maintaining small machinery
  • Experience assisting in the upkeep of playing surfaces, including fertilising, seeding, and turfing under supervision
  • Capability to assist in preparing ovals for sporting events and carnivals
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level, or completion of an apprenticeship
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
