Summary
Join Brisbane Catholic Education as a Senior Officer – Business Intelligence Developer and play a key role in strengthening our enterprise data environment. In this role, you’ll develop and optimise BCE’s data assets to enable high‑quality reporting, analytics and performance insights across the organisation. Working within the Business Intelligence & Performance team, you’ll provide technical expertise, contribute to data governance improvements, and support decision‑making through reliable, well‑designed data solutions.

About the opportunity
In this position you will:
- Develop, maintain and optimise SQL solutions, ETL processes (SSIS, Python) and automation scripts to support data integration and validation.
- Ensure the reliable movement of data from source systems to the data warehouse, aligned with BCE reporting requirements.
- Provide testing capabilities for data deliverables, analytics outputs and dashboards.
- Contribute to the improvement of operational processes, reporting specifications, and governance frameworks.
- Prepare documentation including data specifications, technical reports and integration guidelines.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, resolve code defects and support continuous improvement across BI systems.
- Present technical and analytical insights to stakeholders in a clear, engaging way.
- Support capability development within the team through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Creating accurate documentation with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve complex data or system issues.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Investigating issues and concerns and providing advice and information in line with policy and procedures
- Strong SQL capability and experience with tools such as MS SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, ASP .NET Core and Python.
- Qualifications in information systems (Certificate/Diploma) or equivalent experience (desirable).
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
