About our team
The Office Services team is responsible for the provision of a suite of services including venues, building security, travel management, fleet, telephony and mobile technology systems, records management, reception, receipt and despatch and BCE insurance provision.
Summary
Brisbane Catholic Education is seeking a reliable and customer‑focused Café Assistant to support the daily operation of our onsite café at Woolloongabba. This role is responsible for preparing café‑style food and beverages, supporting office catering, and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. You will work as part of a small team to deliver high‑quality hospitality and service each day.
- Location: BCEO Woolloongabba
- Work hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (6 hours each day)
- Status: Casual | Commencing April 2026
- Salary: $35.60 - $38.75 per hour plus super

About the opportunity
In this position you will:
- Prepare and service café‑style food and beverages to a high standard, in compliance with food safety requirements
- Operate kitchen and café equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions
- Support daily café operations, including office catering and front and back of house duties
- Delivering friendly, customer‑focused service to staff and visitors
- Complete POS tasks, including opening and closing procedures as required
- Maintain a clean, sanitised and well‑organised café and kitchen environment
- Follow directions from the Café Supervisor and adhering to all policies and procedures
- Promote safe work practices by identifying and reporting hazards, incidents, accidents and near misses
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused setting
- A positive, team‑oriented attitude and willingness to support colleagues
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer service
- The ability to follow procedures and work safely at all times
- Previous experience in a café, hospitality or similar environment (highly regarded)
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Undertake a criminal history check prior to commencement
