Join BCE as our Capability & Governance Lead and focus on strengthening BCE’s procurement capability, governance, systems, and performance.

 

Leverage your expertise in strategy and collaboration across Brisbane Catholic Education, driving enhancements in operational efficiency.

 

You’ll play a key role in developing, implementing, and uplifting procurement governance structures, frameworks, and tools that support effective planning, risk management, contract oversight, and audit readiness.

  • Salary: $155,351 - $172,606 plus super 
  • Status: Permanent (continuing)

About the opportunity

 

In this position you will: 

  • Drive BCE’s procurement capability through targeted training, coaching, and knowledge-building initiatives for ~340 decentralised true buyers
  •  Lead eProcurement system operations and optimisation, ensuring high user adoption and integration with financial and contract management systems
  •  Direct the Procurement Data & Insights Analyst to ensure accurate reporting, analytics, and performance monitoring that drive informed decision-making
  • Lead and support a team of data analysts, governance, and system specialists, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor procurement activities for compliance risks and performance gaps, implementing effective controls and supporting audit processes
  • Partner with the Sourcing & Partnering Lead and Contracting & Compliance Lead to drive the maturity of BCE’s procurement function, embedding stewardship, accountability, and Catholic social teaching values

About you

 

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Extensive senior-level experience in procurement governance, data analytics, capability development, and systems leadership
  • Proven ability to uplift procurement capability and drive consistent practice across large, decentralised organisations
  • Demonstrated success in policy and framework design, system optimisation, and audit readiness
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influence skills across senior leaders, principals, and operational teams
  • Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of procurement legislation, governance, and probity requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in procurement, commerce, law, public administration, or related discipline
  • Preferably CIPS-qualified (or equivalent), reflecting top-tier professional standing

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement.  
  • Current QLD Driver's Licence
