About our team
The Office Services team is responsible for the provision of a suite of services including venues, building security, travel management, fleet, telephony and mobile technology systems, records management, reception, receipt and despatch and BCE insurance provision.
Summary
Play a key role in supporting administrative and operational needs, taking on a diverse range of tasks. Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) venues are a thriving network of learning and innovation. Our venue assistants play an important role in providing a welcoming and productive environment for our staff to hold meetings, conduct professional learning events or to work quietly in our flexible workspaces. The role includes Flexibility is required to ensure our services align to the needs of our visitors and staff – some weeks are busier than others and some venues will need more attention than others. Locations may include Woolloongabba, Wilston, Wynnum and Brisbane.

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Assist in setting up and facilitating meetings, events, and flexible work arrangements at BCE venues.
- Coordinate bookings, room setups, and minor maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and technical support.
- Prepare and maintain venue rooms, manage online calendars, and handle booking enquiries.
- Organise and set up catering, including ordering, receiving, and clearing away after events.
- Maintain a safe and presentable environment, including general cleanliness and minor maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to team goals by following instructions and providing feedback on processes.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Hold a current/valid Queensland Driver’s Licence, if required.
- Previous experience in a similar role supporting events and venue management is highly regarded.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to assist with room setups and audiovisual equipment.
- Capable of safe lifting techniques for loading and unloading furniture and equipment.
- Maintain Workplace Health and Safety requirements and act as Fire Warden in emergencies.
- First Aid certification or the ability to acquire is desirable.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
