Summary
Brisbane Catholic Education is seeking a Financial Data Analyst (Senior Advisor - Data Analyst (Financial Services)) to join our Finance team at our Woolloongabba office. In this role, you will transform complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making across the organisation. Working with stakeholders across Finance, ICT and the broader BCE community, you will develop reporting solutions, enhance analytics capability and contribute to initiatives that drive innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement.

About the opportunity
In this position you will:
- Bring thought leadership on financial data modelling design, visualisation and use
- Develop and maintain financial, operational and performance reporting solutions that support informed business decisions
- Analyse complex financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and actionable insights
- Contribute to enterprise financial modelling, forecasting and scenario planning activities
- Design and enhance dashboards, visualisations and automated reporting processes to improve reporting efficiency
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity and reliability of financial and operational datasets through validation and reconciliation activities
- Support data governance initiatives by documenting business rules, standards, processes and data quality controls
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, ICT and the wider organisation to deliver fit-for-purpose analytical solutions
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement projects through research, analysis, testing and implementation activities
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Demonstrated experience in data analytics and financial planning and analysis within a medium to large, complex organisation.
- Strong capability in interpreting data and translating analysis into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
- Experience developing dashboards, reporting frameworks and automated reporting solutions.
- Experience leveraging Microsoft technologies and the Power Platform to design, integrate and automate end-to-end data solutions, connecting platforms such as Excel, SharePoint, Azure and Power BI to improve data accessibility, reporting and business processes.
- Experience with Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and/or use of Databricks would be highly desirable.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams.
- Experience supporting organisational change, process improvement or system enhancement initiatives.

Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, data analytics or a related field, supported by CA/CPA membership (or equivalent) and ongoing professional development.
