About our team
The Student Diversity and Wellbeing team develops policy, strategy, and innovation in Inclusive Education and Student Wellbeing services, providing consultancy, advice, and practical strategies to support schools. Their goal is to ensure all students can access and participate in learning, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement in the school community to maximise learning and wellbeing.
Summary
As Lead Education Advisor – Inclusive Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing inclusive education practices across the organisation. This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership, expert advice, and professional support to ensure that students with diverse learning needs are fully engaged and able to achieve their best. You will drive policy development, lead high-performing teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and use data-driven insights to inform and improve educational outcomes. A key aspect of your work will be leading projects related to the development and implementation of literacy interventions, with particular emphasis on Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for students requiring additional assistance, in response to literacy screening data. Your work will directly influence the development and implementation of inclusive education strategies, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and alignment with organisational priorities.

- Salary: $155,351 - $172,606 (pro rata) plus super

About the opportunity
In this position you will:
- Lead specific projects focused on the development and implementation of literacy interventions, with a particular emphasis on Tier 2 and Tier 3 support strategies
- Analyse organisational needs and use data-driven insights to recommend and implement improvements to policies and processes that support students with diverse learning need
- Develop, implement, and review strategic initiatives, including risk management and change processes, to strengthen inclusive education outcomes
- Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with school leaders, educators, parents, and external stakeholders to inform policy and drive positive change
- Represent BCE in key areas such as student attainment and support for students with disabilities, advocating for inclusive practices at all levels
- Optimise long-term organisational and service delivery outcomes for the system by effectively leading and supporting system-wide priorities and objectives
- Oversee the development and compliance of policies, procedures, and guidelines for inclusive education, ensuring they meet legislative requirements and BCE’s Learning Framework
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Undertaking the development and review of strategic processes
- Being responsible for the implementation and delivery of strategic objectives and attainment
- Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to interpret data and make evidence-based recommendations for policy and process improvements
- Identifying function area needs for now and the future
- Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines that support inclusive education and comply with legislative requirement
- Stakeholder engagement across an organisation at a Senior level
- Managing teams across different function areas
- Tertiary qualifications in education, with post-graduate qualifications in Inclusive Education or a related field highly regarded
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
