Summary
This senior finance role provides technical leadership across capital accounting and capital reporting, with a strong focus on improving the integrity, clarity and usability of capital information. You will lead the redesign and documentation of end‑to‑end capital processes, strengthening the connection between transactional accounting and financial planning and analysis to enable consistent, scalable and best‑practice ways of working. This role plays a key part in lifting capability, confidence and consistency in how capital information is understood and used across the organisation.

About the opportunity
In this position you will:
- Provide senior technical leadership across capital accounting, reporting, governance and internal controls
- Own and maintain a clear, fit‑for‑purpose capital reporting framework used consistently across the organisation
- Deliver expert accounting advice on capital transactions including capitalisation, asset recognition, depreciation, impairment, disposals and project accounting
- Strengthen end‑to‑end capital data integrity through robust reconciliations between the general ledger, asset registers, projects and reporting outputs
- Design and document end‑to‑end capital processes, connecting transactional accounting with budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
- Lead current‑state process reviews and design future‑state improvements aligned to best practice and scalable ways of working
- Facilitate workshops and partner with finance and planning and construction stakeholders to co‑design improved processes and uplift capability
- Support audit and statutory reporting requirements for capital, ensuring strong compliance, documentation and audit readiness
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Significant senior‑level experience in capital and financial accounting within large, complex organisations
- Deep technical expertise in capital accounting, reporting, governance and reconciliation
- Strong ability to translate transactional and capital data into meaningful insights for budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
- Advanced capability in controls, systems, process design and documentation, ideally within ERP and reporting environments
- A structured, analytical approach with the confidence to challenge legacy practices constructively
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience leading workshops and influencing across multidisciplinary functions
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for building capability and improving ways of working
- Degree qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce or a related field and professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent)
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement.
