Summary

The Lead Financial Analyst (Finance SME) plays a critical role in delivering a major People Systems Consolidation program. In this senior position, you will represent Financial Services across payroll, time, reimbursements and learning systems, ensuring finance outcomes are accurate, auditable and sustainable. Working closely with Finance, People & Culture and Technology teams, you will shape integration design, governance, controls and reporting to strengthen financial integrity and support enterprise‑wide transformation. Your expertise will directly influence how finance outcomes are embedded into future‑state people systems.

About the opportunity

 

In this position you will: 

  • Act as the Finance SME for the People Systems Consolidation Program, representing Financial Services in design, governance and decision‑making.
  • Define end‑to‑end finance processes, controls and future‑state designs across payroll and people‑related activities.
  • Lead finance integration requirements into the enterprise finance platform (D365), ensuring accurate payroll and expense accounting.
  • Establish finance governance, controls, audit trails and reconciliation processes to support compliance and reporting integrity.
  • Define finance reporting and analytics requirements for schools and corporate stakeholders.
  • Partner with payroll, people systems and technology teams to ensure data integrity across integrated systems.
  • Support finance requirements traceability, testing and validation including SIT, UAT and parallel pay activities.
  • Support cutover, go‑live and transition to BAU, providing finance input into operating procedures and hypercare.

About you

 

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Senior experience in finance systems and financial accounting within large, complex organisations, with strong focus on data integrity, timeliness and auditability.
  • Deep understanding of payroll‑to‑general‑ledger accounting, including costing allocations, provisions and reconciliations, translating payroll operations into accurate accounting outcomes.
  • Proven experience defining and assuring integrations between people systems and enterprise finance platforms, covering data mapping and transformation logic
  • Strong capability designing governance and control frameworks for integrated systems, including audit trails and evidence standards
  • Solid working knowledge of enterprise reporting and analytics, including defining requirements for dashboards and reporting platforms impacted by payroll and learning data.
  • Proven experience in process documentation and redesign, including SME facilitation, capture of business rules, and development of clear process maps and work instructions.
  • Strong delivery, stakeholder engagement and communication capability across requirements, design, testing and go‑live phases, with a track record producing high‑quality artefacts and driving adoption of improved ways of working.
  • Degree qualification in accounting, finance, commerce or a related field and hold a CA/CPA
