Summary

As the Manager – Communications, Brand and Design, you will lead the delivery of organisation-wide communications, brand and design initiatives that support strategic priorities and drive consistent outcomes across a large, complex education environment. Operating as a senior leader, you will shape and implement communications and engagement strategies, provide expert advice to executive stakeholders, and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-impact, compliant and effective communications that strengthen engagement and reputation across the system.

About the opportunity

In this position you will:  

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality communications, brand and design outcomes that align to organisational priorities
  • Partner with executive and senior stakeholders to scope, prioritise and deliver system-wide communications and engagement projects
  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategic communications and engagement plans, ensuring alignment to broader organisational goals
  • Provide expert advice on communications strategy, key messaging, risks and emerging issues to inform executive decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement by using data and insights to strengthen communications effectiveness and capability
  • Manage complex and sensitive communications, including reactive and crisis responses, ensuring consistency and compliance
  • Influence brand and communications decision-making to protect and strengthen organisational reputation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation to enable proactive planning, alignment and effective stakeholder engagement

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:    

  • Proven experience leading communications, brand or engagement functions within a large, complex organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability, with the ability to influence and partner at senior levels
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering strategic communications and engagement initiatives with measurable outcomes
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to use data and insights to inform decisions and improve outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity, consistency and impact
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in communications, marketing or a related discipline

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment  
  • Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children
