Summary

Join Brisbane Catholic Education as a Procurement Business Partner and play a pivotal role in delivering value-for-money outcomes and building procurement and contracting capability across our decentralised environment. You’ll work closely with internal clients—primarily schools—to plan, coordinate, and execute sourcing strategies aligned with service needs and strategic goals. This is your opportunity to make a real impact by mentoring system users, analysing procurement data, and providing expert advice on complex procurement and contracting matters.

  • Salary: $137,560 - $152,836 plus super 
  • Status: Permanent (continuing) | Commencing December

About the opportunity

In this position you will:

  • Lead procurement and contracting projects, providing strategic advice to influence policy, direction, and operational outcomes
  • Analyse procurement and contracting data to challenge perspectives, identify risks, and support evidence-based decision-making
  • Develop strategies and prepare high-quality reports and documentation to support organisational improvement in procurement and contracting initiatives
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to share expertise and deliver business outcomes
  • Partner with school-based and office stakeholders to build procurement and contracting confidence and capability
  • Support the preparation and quality assurance of procurement documentation, including plans, RFXs, evaluation reports, and contract award recommendations
  • Fulfill the role of Probity Officer when required and write Probity and Assurance Reports
  • Identify and escalate systemic issues, supply market trends, and commercial risks  

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Leading a variety of projects to meet operational outcomes  
  • Experienced in procurement and contracting business partnering, sourcing, or category management
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, able to interpret data and influence decisions
  • Conducted high level reviews and investigations linked to organisational performance
  • Written specialised reports and committee papers on projects
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty
  • Able to develop strategies and recommendations to improve organisational performance
  • Tertiary qualifications in procurement commerce, business, law, public administration or a related field is desired but not essential. Any additional post grad qualifications or membership would also be highly regarded

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:  

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement
