The Digital Platforms team is responsible for BCE’s Foundational Technology, Security Operations, Service Operations and School Technology within Information and Technology. The team ensures that the networks and supporting technologies for employees, schools, and students are secure, accessible, effective, and well-managed. Summary

The Senior Advisor (Senior ICT Officer), Application Delivery is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for supporting secure, high-availability platforms across both cloud and on-premises environments. This position leverages deep expertise in Azure/Entra, F5 BIG-IP (LTM and APM), F5 XC and certificate management to deliver robust solutions, resolve complex issues, and drive continuous improvement. The role leads technical projects, shapes security standards, and ensures the reliability and performance of critical digital services.

  • Salary: $137,560 - $152,836 plus super

About the opportunity

In this position you will:   

  • Secure application delivery across data centre and cloud environments, ensuring availability, performance, and compliance with BCE standards.
  • Operate Microsoft Azure and Entra ID (identity lifecycle, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, app registrations, enterprise apps), enabling secure SSO and access to BCE applications.
  • Administer F5 BIG‑IP LTM (virtual servers, pools, health monitors, SSL/TLS offload, iRules/iApps) to provide resilient traffic management and zero‑downtime releases for critical applications.
  • Manage F5 Distributed Cloud (F5 XC) services DNS, traffic management, and integration with identity and access solutions
  • Manage F5 BIG‑IP APM access policies (SSO, MFA) to deliver secure, user‑friendly application access.
  • Troubleshoot L3–L7 issues across identity, networking, load‑balancing and application layers; perform root‑cause analysis and implement preventive fixes.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures (backups, validation and recovery plans, monitoring and performance tuning) aligned to BCE service levels.
  • Conduct technical analysis, resolve complex issues, and maintain system backups, documentation, and recovery plans.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:    

  • A strong background in networks and security.
  • Experience in the analysis, design, deployment, and support of complex application and infrastructure environments
  •  Experience with F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Access Policy Manager (APM).
  • Experience with F5 Distributed Cloud (F5 XC) for secure application delivery, traffic management, and integration with identity and access solutions
  • Conducted high level reviews and investigations linked to organisational performance.  
  • Written specialised reports and committee papers on projects you have led.  
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty.  
  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology and/or previous experience in a similar position.
  • Networks and security background. Technical qualifications across Azure / Entra, F5 BIG-IP (LTM and APM) and 1 of either Cisco / CheckPoint / Fortinet Firewalls).
