About our team
The Formation and Engagement Services oversees BCE’s core strategic priority to deepen the understanding of and engagement with the Catholic Tradition, Scripture, and Theology among employees, students, and families through professional development, formation and experiential opportunities, alongside the development of contemporary resources that embed the Catholic Identity Framework within BCE schools and offices. This service area of BCE articulates a contemporary Catholic Christian worldview, to animate the centrality of Jesus and responsibility to enact Catholic Social Teachings. This includes creation and oversight of experiential learning opportunities, including pilgrimages; In- and On-Country Encounters; and Religious Education Conferences.
Summary
Senior Advisor – Formation & Engagement: Leadership supports the design and delivery of impactful formation and leadership programs that strengthen Catholic identity across schools and offices. This role focuses on developing contemporary resources, leading professional learning, and partnering with school and system leaders to embed meaningful formation experiences that connect purpose, faith, and leadership practice. You’ll also contribute to shaping system-wide initiatives that build capability and drive consistent, high-quality outcomes.

- Salary: $137,506 - $152,836 plus super

About the opportunity
In this position you will:
- Design and deliver formation programs for leaders and early career teachers, including retreats and service learning opportunities
- Develop high-quality, contemporary resources that strengthen Catholic identity and leadership practice across schools
- Lead professional learning initiatives that build capability in theological formation and faith-based leadership
- Partner with schools and internal teams to co-design, facilitate and review formation programs and resources
- Analyse school and system data to inform strategic decisions and enhance formation outcomes across the system
- Contribute to the development and implementation of system-wide initiatives aligned to strategic priorities
- Build and maintain strong networks to support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Experience designing and delivering professional learning or formation programs in education or a related context
- Strong understanding of Catholic identity, theology, and faith formation in a contemporary setting
- Ability to translate strategy into practical, engaging programs and resources for diverse audiences
- Confident working collaboratively with leaders to influence and drive improvement across a system
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Committed practising Christian with an understanding of the mission of Catholic education
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) in Theology, Religious Education, Leadership or similar
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). OR
- Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
