About our team
The Formation and Engagement Services oversees BCE’s core strategic priority to deepen the understanding of and engagement with the Catholic Tradition, Scripture, and Theology among employees, students, and families through professional development, formation and experiential opportunities, alongside the development of contemporary resources that embed the Catholic Identity Framework within BCE schools and offices. This service area is comprised of three portfolios: Religious Education and Student Formation; Leadership and Staff Formation; and Engagement and Family Formation. This service area of BCE articulates a contemporary Catholic Christian worldview, to animate the centrality of Jesus and responsibility to enact Catholic Social Teachings. This includes creation and oversight of experiential learning opportunities, including pilgrimages; In- and On-Country Encounters; and Religious Education Conferences.

In this role, you will engage employees, students, and families with the Catholic Tradition, Scripture, and Theology through professional development, formation opportunities, and contemporary resources.

- Salary: $137,560 - $152,836 plus super

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Create and implement strategic programs, including the Religious Education Accreditation Program (REAP) and other study and scholarship programs, to develop a shared understanding of the Catholic Tradition.
- Support the effective implementation of the Catholic Identity Framework by utilizing Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI) resources and strategies.
- Provide strategic advice and professional learning through the creation of quality resources to build BCE school and office capacity in enhancing Catholic leadership and theological formation.
- Design, plan, implement, and evaluate policies, practices, and professional learning programs to further enhance staff formation in the Catholic Tradition.
- Facilitate the implementation and evaluation of specific formation programs and resources for school leaders and staff.
- Work in partnership with school-based role holders, leadership teams, and BCEO teams to enhance school formation and theological Catholic Identity development practices.
- Analyse and interpret school data to deliver outcomes and make recommendations to support strategic directions and enhance the Catholic identity of the BCE system.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- A committed practising Catholic with a deep understanding of the purpose and mission of the Catholic Church and Catholic schools.
- Experience in creating and implementing strategic programs and professional learning resources.
- Strong understanding of the Catholic Tradition and its integration within educational settings.
- Leading a variety of projects to meet operational outcomes.
- Analytical in your approach to problem solving. Conducted high level reviews and investigations linked to organisational performance.
- Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty.
- Masters level qualifications in Religious Education, Theology, leadership, spirituality, or a similar relevant field.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
