About our team 
The Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Team at BCE is dedicated to fostering and maintaining safe and healthy environments for employees, students, and visitors across schools and office locations. They offer expert advice and guidance on health, safety, and wellbeing to key internal stakeholders, managing projects to ensure compliance and cultivate a positive workplace culture. The team collaborates with various stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that promote positive behavioural change throughout BCE, and they support rehabilitation and return-to-work initiatives.

Showcase your ability as the senior advisor, driving organisational change through process improvements.  Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Advisor Wellbeing to lead and implement our Employee Wellbeing framework. This role is pivotal in enhancing the mental and physical wellbeing of our employees, fostering a high-performance, values-based culture aligned with the BCE Strategic Plan.

 

  • Location: BCE Office - Woolloongabba
  • Work hours: Fulltime | Flexible working arrangements available 
  • Salary: $133,553 - $148,385 plus super
  • Status: Fixed Term | July 2025 - January 2026

About the opportunity

 

In this position you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading the development and implementation of wellbeing initiatives based on evidence-based practices.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to monitor and improve employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leaders across BCE to build and support wellbeing capabilities and drive cultural change.
  • Confidently present to leadership teams and committees influencing and driving change in employee wellbeing.
  • Manage relationships with wellbeing service providers to ensure effective support services.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and flexible team culture and advocate for mental health awareness.
  • Support compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and codes of practice.
  • Analysing data to positively challenge and negotiate perspectives on complex and strategic issues to deliver outcomes and make recommendations.  
  • Work in partnership with school-based role holders and leadership teams across area of speciality.  

About you

 To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:    

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • Experience in a wellbeing advisory role within a large, decentralised organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health, wellbeing frameworks, and positive psychology.
  • Written specialised reports and committee papers on projects you have led. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in workplace health and safety, human resources, allied health, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in development of fatigue risk management programs.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:  

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment. 
  • Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
