About our team 
The School Operations and Programs team collaborates with senior leadership and other executive functions to provide advice, leadership, and support for projects, programs and BAU activities. We offer operational support for principals, including welcoming and supporting new and acting principals, and providing general operational advice. Our team also manages the Principal Performance and Development Summative Review process, complex complaints and the provision of professional learning around Critical Incident management and support for principals and leadership teams.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager – School Operations and Programs to join our team. This pivotal role supports the strategic and operational effectiveness of schools across the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Working closely with Senior Leaders and Principals, you will lead and coordinate key projects, programs, and initiatives that enhance school operations and professional support.   • Salary: $245,600 including super and access to a vehicle

About the opportunity

 

In this position you will be responsible for: 

  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of strategic projects and initiatives that align with BCE’s mission and priorities, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders – School Performance and BCE Principals to identify emerging issues, share insights, and co-design solutions that enhance school operations and leadership support.
  • Provide expert guidance and hands-on support in responding to complex school matters, including complaints and sensitive leadership challenges, acting as a trusted advisor to principals and senior leaders.
  • Analyse and interpret key data to inform strategic direction, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement across school operations and programs.
  • Contribute to the research and development of innovative school and college organisational models that respond to future educational needs and improve service delivery across P-12 settings.
  • Represent BCE on governance committees and working groups, contributing to system-level planning, funding, and staffing decisions that impact school operations.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project outcomes and system-wide alignment.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team by providing regular feedback, fostering professional growth, and promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in education, operations, or project management, with a track record of delivering impactful outcomes in complex environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical capability, with experience using data to inform decisions and drive change.
  • A deep understanding of school operations and the challenges faced by school leaders, with the ability to provide practical, empathetic support.
  • Experience managing sensitive issues and navigating complex organisational dynamics with professionalism and discretion.
  • A commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Education, and a passion for supporting school leaders to thrive.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, business, or a related field, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
