Summary

We’re seeking a detail‑driven Senior Officer – Financial Performance to support high‑quality financial reporting, forecasting and analysis across Brisbane Catholic Education. In this role, you'll contribute to accurate financial insights that inform decision‑making, strengthen processes, and support continuous improvement across BCE’s schools and offices. You will work closely with Financial Services, ICT, and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure reliable financial data, effective budget processes, and well‑maintained financial systems.

  • Salary: $106,702 -$118,554 plus super

About the opportunity

If you are looking to advance your career in financial performance and analysis or management accounting, in this position you will:   

  • Prepare periodic financial reports, ensuring accurate recording, review and presentation of financial data.
  • Support quarterly and ad‑hoc forecasting activities, including data preparation and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly grant revenue journals and monitor associated budget and revenue allocations.
  • Contribute to ad‑hoc financial modelling, data analysis and insights to support decision‑making.
  • Support delivery of the annual budget cycle, including related reporting requirements.
  • Participate in testing, maintenance and improvement of financial systems, tools and processes.
  • Contributing to the development of operational and administrative processes and system reporting requirements, including preparing business documents and reports.    
  • Presenting operational information and services to engage, influence and guide clients and peers.  

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:    

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly.
  • Creating accurate documentation with a high attention to detail.  
  • Experience working with financial systems, reporting tools and budgeting processes.
  • Stakeholder engagement ensuring information flow in a timely and inclusive manner. 
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving, process improvement and service delivery.
  • Investigating issues and concerns and providing advice and information in line with policy and procedures 
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in accounting, business or a related discipline.
  • Progress towards CA/CPA (or equivalent) membership.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:  

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement.
