Summary
The Senior Procurement Advisor will play a vital role in creating, rapidly executing, and scaling category strategies to deliver value for money, risk reduction, and process efficiency. This includes undertaking end-to-end procurement, contract, and supplier lifecycle management practices. The role also involves identifying continuous improvement opportunities and leading targeted initiatives to standardise, streamline, and systematise procure-to-pay processes, especially those that increase the adoption and usage of the Buying Platform (Procure-to-Pay).

About the opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Provide strategic advice and lead projects to develop policy, influence direction, organisational practices, procedures, and operational outcomes.
- Analyse data to positively challenge and negotiate perspectives on complex strategic issues to deliver outcomes and make recommendations.
- As directed by the line manager, supervise the completion of team-based projects, which may involve undertaking detailed analyses of alternative courses of action to determine organisational and operational requirements.
- Develop strategies to offer sound advice to improve organisational performance by undertaking high-level reviews and investigations as required.
- Prepare specialised and technical reports and committee papers on significant projects, research, or policy development.
- Establish, build and maintain internal and external relationships to share professional knowledge and expertise that deliver business outcomes.
- Collaborate with school-based role-holders and leadership teams across specialties.
- Build capability within and across business areas to enhance operational performance and efficiency. This role will have one direct report, requiring staff management skills and the ability to mentor and develop team members
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- At least 10 years of proven procurement experience, particularly in swiftly executing large-scale and complex tenders, including panel arrangements and contract implementation.
- Extensive and expansive category knowledge and experience, in both direct (including classroom supplies, curriculum and textbooks) and indirect procurement categories (including cleaning, waste, ICT, catering, travel, facilities management (hard and soft)) categories.
- Extensive category knowledge and experience in IT and Facilities Management (hard and soft) categories.
- Highly skilled in using Microsoft Excel and Power BI analytics tools to generate insights.
- Proficient in working with Microsoft Dynamics D365 (Finance) and cloud-based Procure-to-Pay systems.
- Experience in complex stakeholder engagement within a decentralised environment is also highly desirable.
- Minimum university qualifications in STEM or Commerce and previous experience in a senior procurement position are essential.

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
- Current/valid Queensland Driver’s Licence
