Join BCE as our Sourcing & Partnering Lead and be part of a high-performing team, develop and deliver sourcing strategies, uplift procurement capability, and act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.

 

Leverage your expertise in strategy and collaboration across Brisbane Catholic Education, driving enhancements in operational efficiency.   

 

You’ll play a key role in shaping procurement outcomes, managing risk, and building organisational maturity through commercial leadership, stakeholder engagement, and governance excellence.

  • Salary: $155,351 - $172,606 plus super

About the opportunity

 

In this position you will: 

  • Lead a team of Procurement Business Partners and Strategic Sourcing Specialists; uplift skills across ~340 decentralised true buyers through mentoring, guidance, and capability-building programs
  • Develop and deliver sourcing strategies and procurement pipelines aligned to BCE’s priorities, ensuring commercial outcomes and risk mitigation
  • Act as a trusted advisor to schools and business units; foster early engagement and solution-oriented approaches
  • Lead complex procurement negotiations, ensuring sustainable contracts, favourable terms, and appropriate safeguards
  • Ensure all sourcing aligns with probity, legislation, and internal policy; provide oversight of evaluation processes and award recommendations
  • Build trusted relationships across all levels; represent Procurement in governance forums, workshops, and leadership discussions
  • Collaborate with peer leaders (Capability & Governance, Contracting & Compliance) to strengthen BCE’s overall procurement function

About you

 

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and procurement partnering at a senior level, across a wide range of categories, including goods, services, IT, maintenance, and major infrastructure/capital works
  • Demonstrated resilience, grit, and leadership under pressure, with the ability to navigate complexity and drive outcomes
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record in complex, high-value negotiations
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement legislation, probity, and governance
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influence skills across senior leadership and operational levels
  • Tertiary qualification in procurement, commerce, business, law, or related field
  • Preferably CIPS-qualified, or with an equivalent professional standing

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Ability to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement
  • Current Queensland Driver’s Licence
