About our team
The Student Diversity and Wellbeing team develops policy, strategy, and innovation in Inclusive Education and Student Wellbeing services, providing consultancy, advice, and practical strategies to support schools. Their goal is to ensure all students can access and participate in learning, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement in the school community to maximise learning and wellbeing.

About the opportunity
In this position you will:
- Provide collaborative and consultative speech pathology services to schools, building capacity to meet diverse student needs
- Support students requiring significant assistance to access the curriculum and interact socially due to communication difficulties
- Develop partnerships with school communities to implement inclusive education policies and guidelines
- Advise on individualised learning plans, educational adjustments that provide access and participation in the curriculum, transition, and Enrolment Application and Support Procedures
- Employ practices to support students with communication impairments, including evaluation, reporting, and collaborative planning
- Contribute to data collection and resource development, and provide advice and reporting informed by research
- Liaise with and seek professional support and supervision from the Education Officer – Speech Pathology
- Participate in professional peer groups and contribute to broader strategic and operational planning within Learning and Teaching Services
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Creating accurate documentation with a high attention to detail.
- Stakeholder engagement ensuring information flow in a timely and inclusive manner.
- Demonstrated experience providing specialised advice and support to schools on speech pathology services
- Experience implementing policy and strategic directions for students with communication impairments
- Sound knowledge of professional practices, legislation, and current research in speech pathology for students
- Clinical competence in differential diagnosis and intervention for children/adolescents with communication difficulties
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology from a recognised institution
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
- Eligibility for certified practising speech pathologist (or provisional) membership of Speech Pathology Australia
